In his new function, Renato Piffaretti will be responsible for the continuing development and implementation of the real estate strategy of Swiss Life Asset Managers in Switzerland. In this pursuit he will focus on enhancing the insurance portfolio and actively expanding national and cross-border real estate business for investment fund and investment foundation clients in Switzerland. Swiss Life is the owner of Switzerland's largest privately held real estate portfolio (CHF 20 billion on 30 June 2016).
Renato Piffaretti joins Swiss Life Asset Managers from Basler Versicherung, where he has been the Head of the Real Estate area since April 2013. Prior to that date he spent 13 years working for the global real estate division of UBS Global Asset Management. Between 2006 and 2013 he was a fund manager for UBS (CH) Property Fund – Swiss Mixed "Sima", Switzerland's largest real estate fund. Before moving to UBS Renato Piffaretti was a team leader and project manager at various architectural practices. He has a Master's degree in Real Estate Management from the IFZ in Zug.
